Phoenix Coqui: Perfect for Puerto Rican Food Lovers

By Jorge Mejia “AVNegra”

One of the things I love about local small business owners is the passion they put into their products and services. Phoenix Coqui’s food is the staple of Puerto Rican food in Phoenix, full of sabor y sazón. Basically, it was a total foodgasm. I began by ordering an Empanada de Pollo + Pastelon y Arroz con Grandules.

Immediately loved the taste and had a great experience eating here, asi me gusta comer.

Phoenix Coqui is located in the Melrose district on 7th Ave in Phoenix, and they could not have picked a better location. Salsa y Bachata playing in the background while I ate gave off an extremely fun vibe, all while enjoying the delicious island flavor in the food. Phoenix Coqui offers authentic Puerto Rican dishes y tapas como Tripletas, Tostones, Empanadas, Mofongo, y Arroz con Grandules. They also offer a daily and seasonal special menu, as well as catering options.

Phoenix has vastly grown over the years, which has brought a new diversity of cuisines. You know what they say, food really does unite us all. Especially when it’s tasty like Phoenix Coqui’s, a must try place for Puerto Rican food.

Not only do they have wonderful flavors, but also great vibes that make people want to come back for more. They’ve definitely earned AZ’s #1 Puerto Rican food truck for me. A big thank you to the owners for sharing the Puerto Rican food and culture in Phoenix.

“A celebrar la vida” Puerto Rican’s definitely live by this motto and keep that close to their hearts. It’s also something that I felt when I visited. Alexis y Juan, owners of Phoenix Coqui, a Puerto Rican food truck here in Phoenix. Admiro mucho el orgullo de los Puerto Riqueños, de su cultura y también de su comida.
