SINALOA-STYLE SEA FOOD, MARISCOS EL NUEVO ALTATA IS A MUST IN THE VALLEY, FAMILY FUN-FILLED EXPERIENCE WITH BANDA MUSIC ON THE SIDE

By Francisco Romero – When the words Sinaloa and Mariscos are in the same sentence, the next word that comes to mind is Banda, as in Banda Music.

And that is exactly what Mariscos El Nuevo Altata has to offer in the Valley.

Under new ownership and administration this 15 year old restaurant is again vibrating with family filled energy.

“Our goal is to offer great food, excellent service and a family atmosphere,”

“We kept the same personnel, the same menu, the only difference is that now-a-days the portions are bigger and our goal is to have your order on you table in about 10 to 15 minutes after it was placed.”

The restaurant offers the typical Sinaloa-Style Food Menu that includes sea-food cocktails, ceviche, tostadas, oysters amongst others items, as well as Cucarachas, but don’t be scared we’ll get back to the Cucarachas in a bit.

One of the motivating factors for her investment in Mariscos el Nuevo Altata is the families background; new owner born in Navojoa, Sonora, but her grandfather is from Sinaloa.

From Sinaloan last name and I am very proud of it. This restaurant is part of my roots.”

Ah, getting back to the Cucarachas; it is the specialty of the house; and no, it is not the insect we dread.

The Cucarachas are a specialty shrimp dipped into a secret home-made sauce that includes chile chipotle that will make your mouth watery as hey approach your table. (By the way, chile chipotle was the only ingredient she shared.)

And let’s not forget the live Banda music as they play everyday completing the sights, sounds and flavor of authentic Sinaloa-style sea food.

I’ll be seeing you at Restaurant El Nuevo Altata, where you can do a little bit more than eat, perhaps dance a little.
